331 West. Koffiebar + galerie + bodywork.
331 West is a community collective showcasing local and international visual/video artists and musicians.
The cafe itself serves as a gallery space on the first floor for exhibiting artists and hungry passersby. As well as an additional gallery space on the ground floor that can be utilised for film screenings, workshops, meditation groups and bodywork treatments.
The menu we've initially begun with is simple dishes: Soup + toastie's, plus coffee, tea, juice + tipples.
The main gallery space is a friendly environment where people can sit and enjoy the service, and admire the exhibitions on the wall. The wi-fi is free of course and excellent.
The exhibiting artists are displayed for up to three weeks in the upstairs Gallery and up to two weeks in the downstairs Gallery space.
Downstairs there are two rooms, the one immediately at the bottom of the stairs will be utilised as mentioned above for exhibiting artists, but on occasions it can be used for a variety of other uses; A recording studio, a photographic studio, film screenings, Kundalini Yoga classes (as well as pre and post-natal yoga). There is also bodywork treatments conducted in a private, warm and cosy space downstairs.
It is also an excellent space for Visual artists to exhibit as there is no natural light in the space. Small acoustic performances can also be held in this space with cosy rugs and cushions to create an intimate feeling.
Wednesday's will be Kids Day!
We will run workshops for children from midday each week.

331 West is een initiatief van een groep Amsterdammers met liefde voor kunst, koffie en leuke spullen. De wens om zelf een ontmoetingsplek te hebben, waar verschillende kunstenaars je inspireren, je een cadeautje voor je vrienden koopt, je lekkere koffie drinkt en in het weekend tot 16uur kan ontbijten; bracht ons zo ver om al die ideeën gewoon eens uit te voeren. In een voormalig slagerij aan de Admiraal de Ruijterweg 331 in Amsterdam openden begin oktober 2011 de deuren van koffiebar-galerie & winkel 331west.
We hebben heerlijke koffie, thee en natuurlijk gratis wifi. En steeds wisselende exposities van zeer diverse kunstenaars.
